Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group in Kuwait City is seeking an HR professional to manage visas, maintain employee records, onboard new joiners, and support recruitment and welfare initiatives within the Human Resources department.

The role involves ensuring compliance with local regulations, coordinating with government offices, and maintaining data confidentiality while contributing to talent resourcing and staff engagement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Process all types of visas including employment visas and residence visas for employees as well as entertainers
• Registration process and renewal for all hotel vehicles
• Keep HR updated on changes to laws, rules, regulations and forms
• Submit documents to immigration/labour office for cancelled/absconding employees and update sponsorship lists
• Complete departure and exit formalities for employees after visa cancellation
• Obtain quarterly sponsorship reports and reconcile with the immigration/labour office evidence
• Support IHG Winning Ways: Do the Right Thing, Show We Care, Aim Higher, Celebrate Difference, Work Better Together
• Read, understand and implement sections of the FLS Policy; report accidents or hazards to supervisor
• Participate in hotel initiatives and events; contribute to staff welfare
• Maintain confidentiality and data protection at all times
• Maintain positive colleague relations and provide guidance on staff welfare matters
• Keep Director of Human Resources updated on incident reports
• Act as Compensation and Benefits backup in absence of colleague
• Assist with onboarding of new joiners
• Support talent resourcing by organizing skills tests and reference checks
• Contribute to Careers expo/Job Fairs preparation and coordination
• Assist recruitment including handling inquiries, newspaper advertisements and quotes
• Perform other tasks assigned by HR Manager or management
• Maintain all employee files and HR paperwork accurately and timely
• Serve as primary contact for staff HR queries with accurate responses

Job description

• Process all types of visas including employment visas, residence visas for employees as well as for entertainers
• Registration process and renew for all hotel vehicles
• Be up to date with regards to any changes or amendments to the prevailing laws / rules / regulations, changes in forms / formats and other procedures and keep the Human Resources Department advised of such changes
• Submit relevant documents periodically to the immigration / labour office with regard to cancelled / absconding employees and delete from the hotel's sponsorship list
• Complete departure and exit formalities for employees after cancellation of visas
• Obtain quarterly sponsorship reports from the immigration / labour office and tally sponsorships and re-submit to immigration / labour office with relevant support documents.
• Help to build the IHG working culture by supporting our Winning Ways of Do the Right Thing, Show We Care, Aim Higher, Celebrate Difference and Work Better Together.
• Read, understand, and implement the relevant sections of the FLS Policy. Report all accidents, dangerous occurrences, or hazards, no matter how minor, to the supervisor or Heads of Department
• Participate in various initiatives of the hotel and the department such as special events and community activities.
• Ensures data protection and confidentiality at all times
• Establishes and maintains effective colleague relations, and provides guidance and assistance on matters relating to staff welfare of work
• Responsible for updating the Director of Human Resources on all the incident reports filed
• Assumes the basic function of Compensation and benefits role in the absence of the colleague
• Handles and actively supports the on boarding of new joiners
• Support talent resourcing in recruiting by organizing skills tests and reference checking potential candidates.
• Contribute to the preparation of Careers expo/Job Fairs including preparation and coordinating resources.
• Assist with recruitment efforts including answering applicant telephone enquiries, create newspaper advertisements and sourcing advertisement quotes.
• Perform other tasks as may be assigned by Human Resources Manager or management from time to time
• Maintaining all employee files, applications, and processing all Human Resources related paperwork accurately and timely manner.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for staff with HR-related queries, e.g. providing salary certificates, or issues. Ensure that information / answers provided are accurate and consistent.
