Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking an experienced Human Resources leader for the Kuwait location. The role partners with the General Manager and department heads to deliver people strategy, manage recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning, and oversee payroll, staff relations, and training initiatives.

The successful candidate will drive engagement, performance management, and leadership development while ensuring compliance with Kuwait Labour Law and IHG policies in a hospitality

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management or related field.
• 3 years’ experience in HR, administration or hotel operations; HR in hotel is a plus.
• Strong understanding of core HR processes: recruitment, onboarding, attendance, payroll support and relations.
• Knowledge of Kuwait Labour Law and local employment practices is an advantage.
• Excellent administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail.

Job description

A Little Taste of your Day to Day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

• Lead the hotel’s Human Resources function, partnering with the General Manager and Department Heads to deliver the people strategy and support overall business objectives.
• Manage recruitment, selection, onboarding and workforce planning, ensuring the hotel attracts, develops and retains the right talent while maintaining appropriate staffing levels.
• Oversee colleague relations, providing guidance on performance, grievances, disciplinary matters, investigations and workplace concerns while ensuring fairness, confidentiality and consistency.
• Drive colleague engagement, recognition and wellbeing, including colleague surveys, action plans, Town Halls, recognition programmes, celebrations and initiatives that strengthen workplace culture.
• Lead performance and talent management, including performance reviews, succession planning, internal development, promotions, transfers, cross-training and career development.
• Partner with Learning & Quality to identify training and development needs, ensuring mandatory learning, leadership development and hotel training initiatives are effectively delivered.
• Oversee payroll-related HR processes, attendance, leave, benefits and colleague movements, ensuring information is accurate, properly authorised and processed on time.
• Ensure compliance with Kuwait Labour Law, government requirements, IHG policies and brand standards, working closely with Government Relations on work permits, residency and other colleague documentation.
• Manage HR policies, colleague records, audits and compliance requirements, maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring corrective actions are completed when required.
• Monitor headcount, manpower productivity, HR budgets and labour costs, working with Department Heads on vacancy management, scheduling, cross-deployment and effective workforce utilisation.
• Prepare and analyse key HR reports and people metrics, including headcount, vacancies, turnover, absenteeism, leave, recruitment and engagement, using insights to support management decisions.
• Champion IHG's inclusive culture and responsible business commitments, supporting Giving for Good, community partnerships, local talent development and other colleague initiatives.
• Oversee the complete colleague lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through development, engagement and recognition to resignation, transfer or separation.
• Lead, coach and develop the HR team, ensuring a professional, approachable and efficient HR service for all colleagues.

What we need from you

Ideally, you’ll have some or all of the following:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management or a related field.
• 3 years previous experience in Human Resources, administration or hotel operations; previous hotel HR experience is an advantage.
• Good understanding of general HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, attendance, payroll support and colleague relations.
• Knowledge of Kuwait Labour Law and local employment practices is an advantage.
• Good administrative and organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally with colleagues at all levels and from different cultures and backgrounds.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Comfortable working with HR systems and digital platforms.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work accurately within deadlines.
• Strong sense of confidentiality, integrity and professionalism.
• A positive, approachable and service-oriented personality.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of the HR and hotel team.
