Job summary

Abroad Work in Kuwait City is seeking a skilled Head Chef to lead our Indian cuisine kitchen. You will oversee all cooking, menu development, training and inventory control, ensuring consistent quality and cost effectiveness.

The role requires a strong leader who can manage a busy team while maintaining high standards and safety compliance. We require at least 5 years in Indian cuisine, excellent English communication, and a proven ability to mentor staff, plan events, and optimize food costs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a chef, specializing in Indian cuisine.
• Proven Head Chef or similar in Indian restaurant.
• Knowledge of traditional Indian dishes, techniques and ingredients.
• Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Strong English communication and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of food cost control strategies.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Develop menus featuring authentic Indian dishes that cater to our diverse clientele.
• Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all food items.
• Train and manage kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations and high quality standards.
• Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
• Monitor food costs and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining quality.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
• Collaborate with management to plan special events or promotions featuring Indian cuisine.
• Continuously research new recipes, techniques, and ingredients to keep the menu fresh and exciting.
