Job summary

American International University in Kuwait seeks a Director for the Centre for Teaching & Learning (CTL) to lead teaching excellence, faculty development, and learning innovation across AIU’s five schools.

You will shape CTL programmes, advance SLO/PLO assessment, and foster evidence-informed practice while collaborating with the VPAA and external accrediting bodies. Strong GCC leadership and digital education expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Education, Higher Education Pedagogy, Instructional Design, or related discipline.
• Minimum seven years in higher education with at least three years in a leadership role.
• Experience leading or managing a Centre for Teaching & Learning (or equivalent) in a GCC university.
• Proven track record delivering faculty development programs and workshops.
• Experience with SLO/PLO assessment design and accreditation processes.
• Experience administering faculty development grants or awards.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across five interconnected CTL domains.
• Lead faculty professional development, induction programmes, and learning communities.
• Oversee instructional design, educational technology, and AI in teaching policy development.
• Coordinate SLO/PLO assessment training, data collection, and reporting for accreditation.
• Build partnerships, contribute to external networks, and represent AIU in teaching and learning initiatives.
