Confidential Jobs is seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead the finance function of a growing joint-venture business spanning data center, infrastructure, and EPC sectors.

The role covers financial planning, project control, cash-flow management, governance, and risk management across projects and markets, reporting to the CEO and Board.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
  • CPA/ACCA/ACA/CMA or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of finance experience including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Experience in EPC, construction, infrastructure, data centers, or project-based businesses.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS 15, cost-to-complete forecasting, and project profitability.
  • Experience managing project cash flow, working capital, and funding facilities.
  • Demonstrated commercial judgement in complex contracts.
  • Advanced financial modelling, ERP, and management reporting.
  • Experience in a joint venture or multi-shareholder environment preferred.
  • Previous Kuwait or GCC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead annual budgeting, business planning, forecasting, and rolling forecasts.
  • Translate the project pipeline into revenue, profitability, and cash flow needs.
  • Provide CEO and Board with accurate financial analysis and recommendations.
  • Establish and maintain financial policies, internal controls, and authorities.
  • Maintain full financial control over projects from tender to final account.
  • Prepare and monitor project budgets, C2C forecasts, EPC margins.
  • Track costs against budgets and identify overruns.
  • Ensure IFRS 15 revenue recognition and milestones billing.
  • Manage working capital, treasury, banking relationships, and guarantees.
  • Review major bids, contracts, and subcontracts for financial impact.
  • Support commercial negotiations and protect margins and liquidity.
  • Oversee monthly closing, reporting, audits, and compliance.
  • Build and lead a finance and project-controls team.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead the finance function of a growing joint-venture business operating across the data center, infrastructure, and EPC sectors.

This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for financial planning, project financial control, cash-flow management, management reporting, governance, compliance, commercial oversight, and financial risk management across the company’s projects and markets.

The Finance Director will work closely with the CEO, Board, project teams, procurement, and commercial management to ensure that projects are delivered in line with approved revenue, profitability, cash-flow, and return targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead annual budgeting, business planning, forecasting, and rolling financial forecasts
  • Translate the project pipeline into revenue, profitability, working-capital, cash-flow, and funding requirements
  • Provide the CEO and Board with accurate financial analysis, reporting, and recommendations
  • Establish and maintain effective financial policies, internal controls, and delegated authorities
  • Maintain full financial control over projects from tender and contract award through completion and final account
  • Prepare and monitor project budgets, cost-to-complete forecasts, estimate-at-completion, contingencies, margins, and profitability
  • Track committed, incurred, invoiced, and forecast costs against approved budgets
  • Identify cost overruns, margin deterioration, liquidity pressure, and financial risks at an early stage
  • Ensure accurate project accounting and revenue recognition in accordance with IFRS, particularly IFRS 15
  • Monitor milestone billing, collections, receivables, retentions, and unbilled revenue
  • Manage working capital, treasury, banking relationships, project funding, guarantees, performance bonds, and letters of credit
  • Review the financial and commercial terms of major bids, contracts, purchase orders, and subcontracts
  • Support commercial negotiations and assess their impact on project margins, cash flow, and contractual exposure
  • Ensure procurement and related‑party transactions are transparent and aligned with approved governance requirements
  • Oversee monthly closing, management accounts, reconciliations, statutory reporting, audits, and compliance
  • Maintain financial and commercial risk registers across all projects
  • Build and lead an effective finance and project‑controls team
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
  • Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, ACA, CMA, or equivalent is strongly preferred
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant finance experience, including at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role
  • Proven experience within EPC, construction, infrastructure, data centers, engineering, or another project-based business
  • Strong knowledge of project accounting, IFRS 15, cost-to-complete forecasting, and project profitability analysis
  • Demonstrated experience managing project cash flow, working capital, banking facilities, guarantees, performance bonds, and funding requirements
  • Strong commercial judgment and experience reviewing complex customer, supplier, and subcontractor agreements
  • Advanced financial modelling, ERP, and management-reporting capabilities
  • Experience within a joint venture or multi-shareholder environment is strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in Kuwait or the GCC is preferred
