Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. (GDIT) is seeking an experienced Generator rebuild and HVAC Technician in Kuwait to maintain and restore 3 kW–150 kW diesel generators and HVAC systems for military and commercial applications.

You will diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, repair control systems, and support field and shop operations. The role requires a high school diploma with years of experience or a BA/BS with relevant experience, plus US citizenship and a Secret clearance

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High School diploma & 6 yrs or BA/BS plus 2 years’ experience, AA/AS/plus 4 years’ experience.
• Technical skills: Extensive diesel engine rebuild and generator experience. Knowledge of generator parallel systems and switch gear.
• Experience with brazing copper tubing and evacuating and recharging refrigerant.
• Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance within 12 months of the start date
• Citizenship: US citizenship required
• Role requirements: US passport must not expire for at least 2 years, valid US driver’s license, and an international driver’s permit (AAA)
• Must pass all medical requirements of CRC in order to deploy to the CENTCOM Area of Operations

Responsibilities

• Perform overhaul, maintenance and sustainment support on 3kW to 150kW generators.
• Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC systems and control panels.
• Test and service HVAC, Chillers and Environmental Control Units.
• Fabricate wire harnesses and solder terminals.
• Operate load bank and dynometer during testing.
• Some work in generator shop and some in field environments.
• Other duties as assigned.
