Job summary

American International University (AIU) Kuwait invites applications for the position of Director, Centre for Teaching & Learning (CTL). The CTL serves AIU’s five schools and the Foundation Programme, providing strategic leadership in teaching excellence, faculty development, and learning innovation.

The Director will build programmes, partnerships, and evidence-building capacity from the ground up, reporting through the Office of the VPAA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education, Master of Education (Education), Ph.D/Doctorate are required or strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver, and evaluate a structured, evidence-based faculty development programme across AIU covering evidence-based pedagogy, inclusive teaching, active learning, hybrid and online instruction, AI in teaching, student assessment design, and academic writing for publication.
• Lead the New Faculty Induction Programme each September with a structured, multi-day orientation.
• Establish and facilitate Faculty Learning Communities organized around teaching interests or pedagogical themes.
• Coordinate and manage the peer observation of teaching cycle, providing framework, training observers, and maintaining confidential records.
