Job summary

National Contracting Company Limited seeks an experienced Electrical Design Lead for Simple and Combined Cycle Power Plants in Kuwait. This role focuses on delivering robust HV/MV/LV electrical designs, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring compliance with IEC/IEEE standards.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 12–15 years in practical design, and is a Kuwait Society of Engineers member.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 12–15 years of experience in electrical engineering design of Simple and Combined Cycle Power Plants.
• Kuwait Society of Engineers (KSE) membership.
• Knowledge of equipment sizing, system studies, one line diagrams, equipment layouts, RFQs, bills of materials and review of vendor offers; experience with ETAP and engineering codes and standards.
• Strong leadership, teamwork, time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design activities for HV MV LV systems including generators transformers switchgear GIS AIS MCCs UPS DC systems and auxiliary systems
• Carry out equipment sizing design calculations equipment selection and engineering drawings to high standards meeting all aspects of client specifications
• Review and approve electrical engineering calculations design documents SLDs schematics layouts and equipment specifications ensuring compliance with IEC IEEE standards and statutory requirements
• Attend design review meetings with clients and coordinate with engineering consultants and vendors on engineering deliverables technical submittals and queries
• Manage interdisciplinary interfaces with Mechanical Civil and Instrumentation Control disciplines and coordinate with NCC site engineers on design-related queries
• Resolve technical queries deviations and design changes assess their technical commercial schedule and contractual impact and identify design risks and constructability issues at an early stage
• Direct and guide team members in preparing engineering documents and drawings and ensure proper handover of approved documents and as-built drawings
