Job summary

Syracuse University Libraries' Special Collections Research Center (SCRC) seeks an Access Services Supervisor to oversee Reading Room operations and supervise Public Services student employees. This role ensures equitable access to rare materials and coordinates with the Reference and Access Services Librarian.

The position requires overseeing scheduling, visiting researcher coordination, and adherence to policies while collaborating with staff across the department.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent education/experience.
Two years of relevant work experience in public service/library settings.
Demonstrated supervisory or service management experience.
Ability to conduct research and answer information requests.
Commitment to an equitable, inclusive, and accessible environment.

Responsibilities

Coordinate researcher visit requests and manage appointments.
Research and respond to reference inquiries.
Participate in the reference desk rotation.
Fulfill collection requests via Aeon and Outlook.
Manage duplication requests of SCRC materials.
Contribute to additional projects as assigned.
