Job summary

Pace University in Pleasantville, NY seeks a Part-Time Reference Librarian to deliver reference, research, and referral services in a team-based environment. You will assist students, staff and faculty in locating sources across formats and provide one-on-one consultations as needed.

The role emphasizes information literacy and supports diverse student populations in both online and in-person reference settings, with a schedule focused on evenings and weekends. MLS/MLIS required.

Qualifications

MLS, MLIS, MSLIS, or equivalent required.
Experience providing reference service in an academic library.
Knowledge of print and electronic information sources.
Ability to work in a busy academic setting with students and faculty.
Passion for information literacy and ability to support a diverse student population online and in person.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive reference, research, and referral services at the Mortola Library Reference Desk and via online chat.
Assist students, staff, alumni, and faculty in locating and interpreting information sources.
Offer one-on-one research consultations as needed.
Support library collection development and maintenance initiatives.
Contribute to other library projects as designated by the Head of Patron Services Pleasantville.
Perform other duties as assigned.
