PIDS Advocacy Committee - As is seeking a full-time Pediatric Otolaryngology Physician to join our team at The Children's Hospital of San Antonio. The candidate will work with faculty and residents while ensuring effective patient care for children with chronic illnesses.

Responsibilities include conducting patient care reviews, coordinating with nursing services, and providing education to patients and families. Essential qualifications include an MD, fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology, and relevant board certifications.

Qualifications

  • MD degree or equivalent.
  • Fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology.
  • Board certified or eligible in otolaryngology.
  • Experience working with children with chronic illness.
  • Current Basic Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient care reviews to analyze quality of care.
  • Recommend criteria for clinical privileges.
  • Review adherence to medical staff policies.
  • Coordinate patient care with nursing and ancillary services.
  • Lead department/service meetings for quality discussions.

Skills

Strong physical assessment and diagnostic skills
Patient and family education
Care coordination
Knowledge of long-term medications and drug interactions

Education

MD degree or equivalent
Fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology
Board certified or eligible in otolaryngology
