Job summary

Amteck seeks a Journeyman Electrician 1 (J1) who will work under a Foreman or Superintendent and may oversee a small crew. The role involves installation, alteration, and repair of electrical systems and related components, with opportunities to learn in other divisions like low voltage and fire alarm.

The position requires hands-on installation, reading blueprints, and effective teamwork, with overtime as needed. Candidates should be capable of mentoring less-experienced workers on site.

Qualifications

5-7 years of experience in electrical construction in commercial/industrial environments.
Ability to use company-tools and uphold safety policies.
Willingness to learn across divisions such as controls and fire alarm.

Responsibilities

Work independently to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit.
Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panel boards, and conductors.
Demonstrate knowledge of circuiting and read project specs, blueprints and schematics.
Lay out small work areas from drawings and documents, including underground layouts.
Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
