Job summary

Amteck seeks a Journeyman Electrician 1 to work under a Foreman or Superintendent and may oversee a small crew of Helpers or Apprentices. You will perform installation, alteration and/or repair of electrical systems, conductors and equipment, with opportunities to learn other divisions.

Responsibilities include measuring, cutting, bending and installing conduit, wiring devices, reading blueprints, and mentoring on site.

Qualifications

5-7 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial environments.
Demonstrate Amteck Way in daily work activities, behavior and decision making.
Able to work project schedules including weekends and overtime.
Willingness to learn job-related material through oral instruction and observation, typically on-the-job.
Demonstrate a team-player mentality by listening and working cooperatively with others.
Ability to read basic construction documents and perform basic measurements.

Responsibilities

Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using measuring devices and hand tools.
Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panels and feeders.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of circuiting.
Read and understand project specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
Lay out small work areas from drawings, including underground layout.
Determine wire, conduit and junction box sizing.
Troubleshoot lighting and general power circuits.
Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
