Job summary
SUNY Cortland's Memorial Library is hiring a Library Circulation Assistant for Fall 2026. You will provide face-to-face customer service, loaning/returning books and equipment, shelving, and assisting patrons with the SUNY Cortland website and myRedDragon.
This student position requires reliability, punctuality, strong communication, and a willingness to learn. Shifts include weekday and weekend hours, with potential extended study days and finals week adjustments.
Qualifications
- Must be a current SUNY Cortland student.
- Reliability and punctuality are required.
- Friendly, patient, and eager to provide excellent customer service.
- Willingness to learn and assist customers with new technologies.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide face-to-face customer service to library patrons.
- Loaning/returning books and equipment.
- Opening and/or closing the library.
- Navigate the SUNY Cortland website and myRedDragon to find information.
- Answering telephones and directional questions.
- Shelving books.
- Troubleshoot WEPA print stations.
- Instructing customers in use of library equipment.
