Associate professor of counseling at the University of Wisconsin System, Kenosha, WI (UW–Parkside). The position is in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program within the Department of Psychology, Professional Counseling, and Neuroscience.

Title: Assistant or Associate Professor of Counseling

Employment Type: Full time, 9-month, Tenure-track

Reports To: Chair of the Psychology, Professional Counseling, and Neuroscience department

Start Date: August 2025 (position scheduled to begin)

Pay Range: Competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience

• Tenure-track responsibilities primarily in teaching: 60% Teaching of graduate courses in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, including advising graduate students.
• Scholarly activity: 20% Academic scholarship including publications, presentations, and grant activity in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
• Service: 20% Service to the program, department, college, university, profession, and community.
• Provide clinical supervision and advisement to students in the CMHC program.
• Contribute service to UW–Parkside, the College of Natural and Health Sciences, the department, the profession, and/or the community; perform other duties as assigned.

• Ph.D. or equivalent in Counseling or Counselor Education (or expected completion by May 2026).
• Experience teaching across the CMHC curriculum, including in-person and online formats.
• Experience supervising clinical mental health counseling students.
• Willingness or ability to coordinate clinical training programs.
• Active engagement in research and scholarly activity in clinical mental health counseling.
• Experience working with students and staff from culturally diverse backgrounds.
• Licensed as a Professional Counselor; a training license will be considered with a requirement to be independently licensed within 2 years of hire.
