For our own projects, we are looking for Warehouse Supervisor:

Mission:

Warehouse Supervisor at a shipyard is responsible for overseeing the storage, inventory management, and logistical operations within the warehouse, ensuring smooth operations that support the shipbuilding and maintenance processes. Here are the typical duties and responsibilities of a warehouse supervisor in such a setting.

Inventory Management
  • Oversee the accurate storage, tracking, and handling of materials and parts used in shipbuilding and repairs (e.g., steel, machinery, chemicals, and spare parts).
  • Ensure inventory levels are maintained and materials are available when needed for production.
  • Monitor stock levels and initiate reordering procedures as necessary.
  • Conduct regular physical counts of inventory and reconcile with records.
Warehouse Operations
  • Supervise and coordinate warehouse activities such as receiving, storing, picking, and shipping materials.
  • Ensure that materials are stored in a safe and organized manner, with proper labeling for easy identification and access.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including proper handling of hazardous materials.
  • Coordinate the movement of materials to and from the shipyard as required.
Logistics Coordination
  • Work closely with production teams to understand the material requirements and ensure timely delivery of goods to the right locations.
  • Manage logistics for incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure the correct items are shipped or received on time.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, transporters, and other vendors for smooth logistics operations.
  • Schedule the delivery of critical items required for shipbuilding and maintenance projects.
Team Supervision and Training
  • Lead and supervise warehouse personnel, ensuring they perform their tasks efficiently.
  • Train new warehouse staff in proper warehouse operations, safety protocols, and equipment handling.
  • Assign tasks and monitor the performance of warehouse workers, including forklift operators, material handlers, and other team members.
  • A degree or certification in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field may be preferred.
  • At least 5 years of warehouse experience: Experience in warehouse operations, with familiarity in stock control, inventory management, and logistics.
  • Supervisory Experience (Preferred): Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role is often required to manage a team of warehouse personnel effectively.
  • Experience in Industrial or Shipyard Environments (Preferred): Knowledge of shipbuilding or maritime-related materials and operations is beneficial.
  • Contract Duration: 1 year
  • Languages known: English and Italian
