CNH Industrial in Modena is seeking a skilled Data Engineer for Flight Recorder (FRec) data acquisition on agricultural machinery. You will collaborate with Engineering, Test Labs and Product validation to configure, test, and install FRec devices and analyze data to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities include defining FRec specifications with stakeholders, validating software on UCM/DEC, performing UTM tests, and documenting procedures.

Competenze

• Master’s degree in Mechanical / Electronics / Automotive Engineering or equivalent by experience.
• 3+ years of experience working with vehicle data systems.
• Experience in HIL testing and CAN protocols.
• Knowledge of data analytics tools like Vector CANalyzer, Databricks and Power BI.
• Fluent in Italian and English.

Job Purpose

• Providing the Flight Recorder (FRec) Specifications
• Involve stakeholders (GPPs, Driveline, Innovation, etc.) in the definition of the FRec data collection content
• Participate in workgroup collecting technical requirements and translating the requirements into functional requirements.
• Manage technical meetings to define parameters to be collected by the FRec Software
• Support debug and Validation of the FRec Software on UCM and DEC (continuous interaction with Software group) in HIL and on vehicle
• User Acceptance tests and Validation of the Field Test Activity Optimization (FTAO) tool.
• This candidate will be responsible for configuring, testing, validating, and installing data acquisition devices and related hardware on Agricultural Machinery in San Matteo. This position works closely with Engineering, Test Labs, and Product validation groups to configure these devices and analyze data as per customer needs.
• Use proprietary software to configure CNH data acquisition (DAQ) devices (Telemaco & Telemaco 2) for various Agricultural Machinery & test cells.
• Test them on bench setup or machine and verify for proper configuration and data quality.
• Ship/install the data acquisition devices securely on the machinery. It might require building brackets to have these devices securely installed.
• Write detailed documents showing installation and data downloading procedure
• Download data from data acquisition devices, data conversion, monitoring data quality, transferring data to a CNH server
• Ensures the use of engineering standards, methodologies, and global product development processes in engineering team’s daily work
• Fosters an environment that welcomes and encourages new and innovative concepts and product opportunities for improvement
• Share ideas for continuous improvements on the Agricultural products and on best practices for the team (tool, data server, document format)
• Embraces Innovation mindset, encourages new technology and is creative

Key Responsibilities

Experience Required

• Master’s degree in Mechanical / Electronics/ Automotive Engineering, or equivalent by experience.
• 3+ years of experience working with Vehicle data engineering systems.
• Experience in HIL testing.
• Knowledge of CAN protocols.
• Knowledge of data analytic tools like Vector CANalyzer
• Knowledge of databricks and Power BI
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a global team
• Ability to travel up to 5% of time
• Fluent in communicating (Italian & English)
• Knowledge of Product Development

• Agricultural or Construction Equipment background or relevant experience in off road machinery engineering.

Pay Transparency

The annual salary for this role is EUR €39,000.00 - €52,000.00 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

For roles open across multiple locations, the salary range indicated refers to the primary location. If a different location is considered, the applicable salary range will be communicated to candidates prior to the first interview.
