Job summary

Artelia is seeking a Junior Gas & Chemicals Site Inspector to join a major industrial project in Milan, focusing on construction supervision, site inspection, and quality control of gas, chemical, and process utility systems within a high-tech environment.

You will work with an international team, progressively gaining autonomy in inspection, verification, and acceptance of complex installations while developing skills in UPW and wastewater systems and staying compliant with safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or related discipline in chemical/ process/ mechanical engineering.
• Degree with focus on industrial utilities or process engineering is acceptable.
• Experience or exposure to gas/chemical systems, water treatment, commissioning, or site activities is a plus.
• Italian language proficiency required; English at least B2.
• Proficiency in reading drawings, P&IDs, layouts, and technical docs.

Job Description

For our Industry Division, we are looking for a Junior Gas & Chemicals Site Inspector to join a major industrial project in the microelectronics sector, based in Milan.

We are seeking a bright, curious, and field-oriented professional interested in developing skills in construction supervision, site inspection, and quality control of gas, chemical, and process utility systems within a high-tech industrial environment.

The successful candidate will join an international multidisciplinary team involved in the construction of new cleanrooms for the microelectronics industry, working daily with professionals from various technical disciplines.

Supported by senior specialists, the selected candidate will progressively gain autonomy in the inspection, verification, and acceptance of complex gas, chemical, and process utility installations.

What You Will Do

• Support site supervision and inspection activities related to gas and chemical utility systems.
• Verify the compliance of installations with project documentation, technical specifications, and applicable standards.
• Monitor the progress of works related to industrial gas production and distribution systems supporting microelectronics manufacturing processes.
• Participate in the inspection of ultrapure water (UPW) production and distribution systems.
• Support supervision activities related to wastewater treatment installations.
• Participate in quality control activities for gas, chemical, and process utility installations.
• Carry out regular site inspections to verify construction progress and installation quality.
• Assist in the analysis and resolution of technical issues arising during construction and commissioning phases.
• Prepare technical progress, inspection, and non-conformance reports.
• Participate in coordination meetings with contractors, suppliers, clients, and project teams.
• Support testing, commissioning, and acceptance activities.
• Perform site checks in compliance with safety procedures.
• Interact daily with an international team using English.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Alternatively, a degree specializing in industrial utilities or process engineering.
• Previous experience (0 to 3 years) in gas and chemical systems, industrial utilities, water treatment, commissioning, or site activities would be appreciated.
• Basic knowledge of industrial gas systems, ultrapure water systems, and wastewater treatment installations.
• Ability to read technical drawings, P&IDs, layouts, and technical documentation.
• Excellent command of Italian.
• Good written and spoken English skills (minimum B2 level).
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Availability to work on a permanent basis at the Agrate Brianza (MI) construction site.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Knowledge of BIM environments and methodologies.
• Construction site safety training.
• Experience or interest in cleanroom, semiconductor, industrial, pharmaceutical, or data center projects.
• Excellent command of Italian and English.
• Knowledge of French would be considered an advantage.
