A leading engineering firm is seeking a Calibration Engineer (Powertrain) to join their team in Michigan. The role involves calibrating and validating engine and transmission control systems for various powertrains, ensuring compliance with OEM requirements. Ideal candidates will have a degree in engineering and experience in automotive development. Strong knowledge of powertrain systems and calibration tools is essential for success in this position.

Competenze

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience in automotive powertrain development, diagnostics, or validation.
  • Hands-on experience with vehicle testing and instrumentation.

Mansioni

  • Develop and release powertrain calibration for ICE, hybrid and electric vehicles.
  • Perform vehicle and dynamometer testing to evaluate emissions, fuel economy, drivability, and torque control.
  • Collaborate with controls, hardware and testing teams to deliver production-ready calibrations.

Conoscenze

Strong knowledge of powertrain systems
ETAS INCA / MDA
CAN / UDS
MATLAB / Simulink

Formazione

ON-SITE IN MICHIGAN, USA

We are looking for a :

Calibration Engineer (Powertrain)

to join our engineering team in Michigan. Responsible for calibrating and validating engine and transmission control systems for ICE, HEV and BEV powertrains. Works on drivability, emissions, performance and diagnostics to ensure compliance with OEM requirements and regulations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and release powertrain calibration for ICE, hybrid and electric vehicles.
  • Perform vehicle and dynamometer testing to evaluate emissions, fuel economy, drivability, and torque control.
  • Use ETAS INCA / MDA for data acquisition, calibration changes and validation.
  • Support root cause analysis of issues during development and production release.
  • Collaborate with controls, hardware and testing teams to deliver production-ready calibrations.
Required Skills & Tools
  • Strong knowledge of powertrain systems (Internal Combustion Engine, Hybrid, Battery Electric).
  • ETAS INCA / MDA, engine & transmission calibration.
  • CAN / UDS, dynamometer & vehicle testing.
  • MATLAB / Simulink (data analysis).
  • DFMEA / 8D basics.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience in automotive powertrain development, diagnostics, or validation.
  • Hands‑on experience with vehicle testing and instrumentation.
