Canonical is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead the Linux-focused engineering team delivering OEM enablement projects for Ubuntu Desktop and Ubuntu Core. You will guide architecture, development, and QA across distributed teams, while ensuring on-time delivery and high-quality software.

Requirements include a STEM degree, strong Linux experience (Ubuntu/Debian), and proven management capabilities, with fluency in English and Chinese. Willingness to travel internationally is expected.

• Bachelor's degree in STEM (preferred computer science/software engineering)
• Proven Linux experience, preferably with Ubuntu or Debian
• Commitment to development, testing methodologies, and maintainable code
• Experience in management responsibilities
• Ability to work in a globally distributed team
• Strong English and Chinese communication skills

• Recruit, mentor, and enable the team to deliver quality OEM enablement projects
• Set goals, plan priorities, and measure team health indicators
• Maximise team performance and support career growth
• Coordinate with PMs, HWE, QA, and certification management
• Monitor projects from kickoff to post-mortem and handle escalations
• Resolve OEM/ODM technical challenges and coordinate with SiPs and IHVs
• Collaborate with Desktop, Kernel, Security teams on engineering efforts
• Provide leadership for methodologies, standards, and best practices
