Transportation Associates will perform trailer moves in the trailer yard, coordinate yard activities such as checking in trailers, traffic flow and internal communications, conduct yard audits, complete driver training programs (Hostler, CDL school), and operate multiple vehicle types to support Amazon’s transportation network.

Responsibilities
  • Make safety a priority by adhering to company rules and regulations, enforce safety measures for all vehicle operators.
  • Perform various functions within the yard to ensure trailers arrive and depart on time, with zero defects and maintain workflow.
  • Operate Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on non‑public roads or in yard, move trailers to / from dock and parking.
  • Learn and comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Amazon policies.
  • Complete driver vehicle inspection reports and notify managers of maintenance or delivery issues.
  • Follow hostler and delivery schedules, track and report working hours and breaks in compliance with Amazon policy and federal / state regulations.
  • Support the business as needed by serving as a peer trainer or working at nearby site locations.
  • Drive, maneuver, and load / unload a truck using approved equipment.
  • Opportunity to work outside and drive different commercial motor vehicles.
  • Exposure to various Amazon site types (NACF, NASC, Air, AMZL & AMXL).

Basic Qualifications
  • High school or equivalent diploma.
  • Driver’s license.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Work 40 hours / week with overtime as required.
  • Work a flexible schedule / shift / work area, including weekends, nights, and / holidays.
  • Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand / walk during shifts up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach.
  • Must have ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines in English.
  • Willing to drive up to 75% of time and obtain a Driver Qualification File (DQF) and / or Commercial Drivers License (CDL).
  • Valid driver’s license for the state of residence and eligible to drive per DOT requirements.
  • For roles requiring over‑the‑road driving, must obtain CDL and DQF; position regulated by DOT and FMCSA.
  • English proficiency required for federal roles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
  • Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow and enforce safety measures and policies for all vehicle operators.
  • Commitment to build collaborative relationships with colleagues and vendors.
  • Previous experience as an Amazon TOM Associate.
  • 6+ months of Peer Driver Trainer (PDT) experience.
Compensation and Benefits

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $49,920 / year in the lowest geographic market up to $60,320 / year in the highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
