About the role

As part of the Settlements & Operations team in Italy, the Trade Reconciliation & Payment Operations Analyst will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of trading and payment data across systems. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive individual with a strong interest in financial markets, particularly FX and derivatives.

You will be responsible for managing daily trade reconciliations, supporting payment operations, and ensuring seamless post-trade processes. The role reports to the Payments Operations Manager and involves close collaboration with trading, compliance, and finance teams.

Key responsibilities
Trade Reconciliation (Primary Focus)
  • Perform daily reconciliation of FX Spot, Forward, Swap, NDF, and Option trades across internal systems and external counterparties.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between trading platforms and internal records.
  • Monitor post-trade reconciliation processes to ensure timely and accurate settlements.
  • Collaborate with the trading desk to validate live trades, M2M valuations, and counterparty confirmations.
  • Prepare and maintain periodic reconciliation reports for internal stakeholders.
Payment Operations
  • Support the processing and settlement of FX transactions with clients, group entities, and market counterparties.
  • Ensure inward funds are accurately reconciled before releasing outward payments.
  • Set up and validate new beneficiaries and payment instructions in the Treasury Management System, following compliance approval.
  • Complete daily reconciliations of the Group’s operating accounts and resolve any mismatches.
  • Escalate issues promptly to the Payments Operations Manager and contribute to risk mitigation strategies.
Process Improvement & Risk Management
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and system workflows.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in developing contingency plans and managing operational risks.

This role is predominantly office based with the ability to work from home 1-2 days per week based on business needs and after successful probation period.

Essential experience & skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in trade reconciliation and/or settlements within a financial institution or FX brokerage
  • Strong understanding of FX products and post-trade processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Italian; Spanish is a plus
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and interact with demanding stakeholders in a diplomatic manner
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative mindset.
