Role Summary
In this role you will take charge of sourcing equipment (production and utilities), construction, and related services for complex CAPEX projects. You’ll ensure timely availability at optimal cost, while aligning with internal requirements and external market dynamics.
You’ll deploy the Global Technical Procurement (TP) strategy and lead the analysis needed to shape the Regional TP strategy—focusing on supply security, cost efficiency, and sustainability. You’ll manage strategic regional suppliers, build a responsible and resilient supplier base, and contribute to global supplier performance insights.
As a key member of project teams, you’ll support internal stakeholders with procurement expertise grounded in market and supplier knowledge. You’ll also develop and implement the regional contribution pipeline and drive global contribution initiatives across CAPEX projects.
Your “day to day”
- Extract and analyze all required information for development of Regional TP strategy such as regional stakeholders' needs, market trends and specifics, supplier base, potential risks and their mitigation, process improvement opportunities and contribution initiatives.
- Execute Regional Sourcing Plan by leading biddings for equipment, construction, and related services within complex CAPEX projects based on Regional TP strategy, business demand, contribution targets and compliance requirements to ensure consistent contribution pipeline, supply network efficiency and sustainability. Negotiate optimal terms and conditions with strategic vendors/suppliers, leveraging know-how of the vendor/supplier market and global/regional cost base of assigned categories to achieve economies of scale.
- Gather regularly regional demand and specifics to be provided to Global TP Category managers to be taken into account in development of Global TP strategy, yearly negotiations with OEMs and execution of Global RFxs.
- Gather and regularly provide to Global Category Managers feedback on global suppliers' performance in region through relative KPIs and supplier performance assessment presented in quarterly business reviews with suppliers.
- Manage regional strategic suppliers' performance through SRM. Implement supplier relationship management through supplier onboarding/qualification, defining key aspects of performance, formulating and controlling principal initiatives aimed at supplier performance improvement corresponding to PMI expectations and strategy. Ensure contractual obligations are met by both by PMI (on-time payment) and strategic supplier (lead time, quality, documentation accuracy, capacity availability).
- Lead negotiations with strategic suppliers on any requirements or claims with financial implications on PMI ensuring best obtainable favorable result for PMI.
- Perform regularly regional supplier segmentation and risk assessment.
- Be main counterpart for team members of Manufacturing CoE (Deployment and Reapplication Leads) and local engineering teams for CAPEX projects, in strategic partnership, process improvements and first level escalations.
- Contribute to high complex CAPEX projects with commercial analysis and inputs to obtain the best value for PMI regarding total cost of ownership, payment terms, lead times, comprehensive supply risk assessment.
- Coordinate regular drumbeats with relevant stakeholders to ensure partnership in projects management, PDCA cycle, align on current and future business priorities.
- Manage demand from business stakeholders considering projects, budget, supply expectations and prioritization.
- Identify and lead high complex optimization initiatives related to TP processes. Take an active role in cross-regional complex optimization programs through sharing and implementing best practices. Ensure internal stakeholders understand the value of standardization & simplification and follow the standard & cost-driven approach in their projects/initiatives.
- Collaborate with all adjacent functions to provide timely TP input and updates on production equipment, technical materials and related services price and contribution.
- Provide strategic support to project engineering, maintenance, production centers, supply chain, finance and other involved departments.
- Enhance implementation of sustainability program leveraging reliable collaboration with regional strategic suppliers. Contribute to responsible sourcing principles deployment providing process and performance requirements applicable to all suppliers doing business with PMI. Support supplier’s engagement with focus on human rights, environment and business integrity.
- Ensure full compliance with local legislation and company policies and practices.
- Actively cooperate and participate in external/internal audits, timely provide any required information and support.
- Lead contractual negotiations and follow up on contracts execution in line with company processes and procedures.
- Adhere to all EHS rules, policies and practices. Pass through appropriate EHS trainings, apply received knowledge at work.
- Inspect and use PPE as appropriate. Keep assigned work areas clean and orderly. Take an active part in EHS programs. Inform the superior immediately about all violations of EHS requirements, take appropriate measures for their elimination.
Who We’re Looking For
- University degree in economics/finance/supply chain management/engineering.
- Minimum 3 years professional experience in procurement or engineering with exposure to multinational environment.
- Project management experience from procurement perspective.
- Proficiency in English.
- Ability to analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and inform strategic sourcing decisions.
- Customer-centric approach accompanied with communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow up on projects and deal with business partners of all levels including senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills, solid knowledge and experience in using Excel.
