Job summary

Panasonic Automotive Systems Europe is seeking an engineer to design heat pump refrigerant and water circuits, model simulations, and conduct regulatory tests. You will optimize control parameters for efficiency and contribute to eco-friendly product development.

In this role you will work with the R&D team to define specifications and address non-conformities. Ideal candidates have a degree in Energy Engineering or related field, with HVAC office experience and strong Excel/Simulation tool

Qualifications

• Degree in Energy Engineering or a related field is preferred.
• Strong understanding of HVAC processes, products, and technologies.
• Experience in Technical Offices in HVAC is a plus (over 2 years).
• Knowledge of refrigerant circuits, thermodynamics, hydraulics, and electronics is desired.
• Familiarity with control and measurement instruments, testing and on-board control.
• Experience evaluating performance and reliability tests for HVAC products.
• Advanced skills in Excel and simulation tools.

Responsibilities

• Choose and size components of the heat pump refrigerant circuit and water circuit according to the technical specification / targets.
• Define and tune simulation model.
• Carry out the tests required by the sector regulations on the products, including data collection and interpretation.
• Optimize heat pump control parameters to maximize efficiency within component constraints.
• Compensate with alternative components to address procurement issues.
• Understand implications of design choices under directives and regulations for eco-friendly design.
• Define product specifications with R&D guidance and propose innovative solutions.
• Participate in non-conformity analysis and propose resolving interventions.

Job description

• Choose and size components of the heat pump refrigerant circuit and water circuit according to the technical specification / targets.
• Define and tune simulation model.
• Carry out the tests required by the sector regulations on the products, even in existence: data collection, analysis and interpretation. Selection of appropriate test chambers for third party laboratories.
• Optimize heat pump control parameters to maximize efficiency, according to components constraints and functional envelopes.
• Compensate with the choice of alternative components any critical issues in the procurement process.
• Understand the possible implications of each design choice according to current and future Directives and Regulations in the field of Eco-compatible design.
• Define the technical specifications of the product based on the indications of the R&D team leader and industry standards in the thermomechanical field. In the development of new or existing products, propose innovative solutions in the area of expertise with the support of the work team.
• Participate in the analysis of non-conformities by giving willingness to evaluate and propose all resolving interventions for all company functions that are influenced by its design.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Degree in Energy Engineering or similar will be a preferential element.
• Proficient understanding and know how in processes, technologies, products or other relevant field of expertise.
• Having already gained experience in Technical Offices in companies in the HVAC sector is an element to be preferred ( > 2 years ).
• The knowledge of refrigerant circuit, thermodynamics, hydraulics (required) and electronics (preferred).
• Knowledge of related control – measurement instruments, both for testing and unit on board control.
• Knowledge of evaluation test (performance, reliability) of HVAC product or similar product.
• Being an advanced user with Excel calculation sheets and Simulation tools.
