A Day in the Life

Are you looking for a role where your expertise can make a real impact? As a Therapy Sales Specialist (TSS) in Medtronic’s Diabetes Operating Unit, you will serve as a trusted resource, providing essential support to both patients and healthcare professionals. In this dynamic position, you will play a key role in ensuring the optimal use of Medtronic’s diabetes care products and services. Beyond sharing technical knowledge, you will be responsible for patient training, post-sales support and contributing to strategic regional plans in collaboration with internal teams and fellow TSS colleagues. Upholding Medtronic’s highest ethical standards, you will also build strong professional relationships in your assigned territory.
Reporting directly to the Sr. Technical & Sales Coordinator North-West Italy, you will be part of the Liguria Sales Team, working closely with diabetologists, endocrinologists, internal medicine specialists, pediatric diabetology professionals, healthcare administrators, and pharmacies. This role covers the Liguria region, where you will help drive awareness and education on diabetes care solutions. This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Deliver technical training for new patients, ensuring correct device usage and providing guidance on advanced features.
  • Participate in follow-up meetings to address inquiries from patients and diabetologists.
  • Promote continuous technical training and raise awareness among diabetology teams about the optimal management of diabetes using Medtronic devices.
  • Plan technical training sessions for new patient onboarding.
  • Collaborate in the commercial cycle and prescription process while ensuring effective inventory management.
  • Provide administrative support to the manager and Therapy Training Specialist (TTS) colleagues in monitoring regional costs.
  • Engage healthcare professionals in educational activities, organizing local training events and offering technical support during scientific conferences.
  • Identify and develop growth opportunities for assigned centers.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • A degree in a scientific discipline or, alternatively, equivalent experience with at least five years in technical-commercial roles within the pharmaceutical or medical device industry, specifically in the diabetes sector.
  • The selected candidate must be based in Liguria.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools and software.
  • A valid Category B driver’s license and availability for frequent travel within Piemonte and Valle D’Aosta, with occasional travel across the national territory.
  • Strong knowledge of the medical device market and diabetes-related therapies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, a consultative approach, results orientation, teamwork, proactivity, assertive communication, and familiarity with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems.
  • A strong scientific background and a good command of English are preferred.
