A leading medical technology company is seeking a Technical Field Service Engineer in North Italy. Responsibilities include delivering technical support and maintenance for BD instruments. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in medical device service, strong diagnostic skills, and be available to travel throughout Italy. The position offers a base salary of €35,000 – €45,000 per year along with a competitive bonus structure.

Technical Field Service Engineer (North Italy)

Deliver technical support and preventative maintenance on the assigned BD instruments and systems within the assigned region in order to guarantee customer satisfaction through an outstanding service and mastery of reported incidents and requests of the customer.

Main responsibilities
  • On-site support operational excellence.
  • Perform local technical support on BD instruments and systems as agreed in customer service level agreements, including installations, deinstallations, relocations, certifications (IQ & OQ), repairs.
  • Handle problems independently.
  • Provide remote support, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
  • Investigate, diagnose, troubleshoot and support the customer remotely for technical problems not supported by the help desk.
  • Work with dispatch function to prepare and schedule appropriate field visits if a remote solution is unobtainable.
  • Field corrective actions and preventive maintenance.
  • Prioritize, plan, and execute field corrective actions, upgrades and preventive maintenance in accordance with regulatory instructions and mandatory procedures within predefined timeframes to ensure business continuity.
  • Pre-installation activities.
  • Functional administrative reporting.
  • Maintain car stock.
  • Follow local procedures for unresolved technical challenges.
  • Retain ownership of escalated issues to deliver solutions once advised.
  • Align with all quality, ISO, GMP and safety regulations and service levels to deliver outstanding quality.
About You
  • Good level of English – A2 or B1.
  • High school diploma or bachelor’s degree in electronic, electrical technology or biotechnology certification.
  • High motivation.
  • Availability to travel 100% of the time.
  • Two or more years of experience in technical service of medical device companies.
  • Instrumentation blood analysis (liquids) experience is an asset.
  • Experienced in remote support, diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with field corrective actions, preventive maintenance and device installation.
  • Functional administrative reporting experience.
  • Quality compliance experience.
Salary and Benefits

Base salary range: €35,000 – €45,000 per year, complemented by a competitive bonus structure and a comprehensive benefits package.

Preferred location: Near Bologna with travel across all Italian territory.
