A leading mining equipment company in Italy is seeking a Technical Advisor to maintain safety and health standards while training technicians. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience with underground mining equipment and a mechanical trade qualification. You will support the Preventive Maintenance program and ensure equipment reliability. This role offers opportunities for growth and a focus on sustainable practices in mining.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a culture of Safety and Health above all else along with a strong environmental responsibility.
• Be a "Subject Matter Expert" on RCS / Hydraulics / and Mechanical fault finding for the Epiroc URE product range.
• Support and train national Technicians with faultfinding and trouble shooting.
• Provide hands‑on technical (on‑the‑job) training internally.
• Review, coach and advise on the work activities including regular inspections.
• Balance work quality vs cost without compromise of health and safety – find the optimal balance.
• Focus on key service metrics, including MTTF (mean time to failure after PM) in conjunction with line manager.
• Provide hands‑on training, coaching & mentoring > 50 hrs, monthly average.
• Provide bi‑weekly report to line manager regarding above.
• Liaise with Trainers to develop the technical skill set of the national Technicians.
• Assist to Shift Supervisor.
• Act as Supervisor of the Epiroc Preventive Maintenance program of our equipment.
• Ensure all drill equipment when returned to work after maintenance activities has been inspected and signed off as ready to work.
• Maintain a rigorous inspection regime that is always reflective in backlog.
• Train the team theoretically & practically with Nerospec function & Technology associated with Epiroc machine.
• Focus on Nerospec PM and breakdown activities including in the field & maintain the reliability of the fleet.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience on underground mining equipment such as drill rigs, loaders, dump trucks.
• Trade qualified Mechanical.
• Extensive experience on RCS system, automation and technology systems is preferred.
• Good knowledge of Epiroc products both for surface and underground mining and geological drilling.
• MS Excel and Word Basic, SAP knowledge.
• Epiroc / Atlas Copco/’s mandatory certificates.
• Root cause analysis experience (Applied failure analysis).
• Oil sampling techniques and protocols.
• Advanced Hydraulics, Electrics & Pneumatics skills, experience.
• AC, Epiroc Essential Basics course.
• Technical training experience on the job and in classroom environment.
