The International School of Bergamo is a friendly and expanding school opened in 2011. In ten years we have become an IB Continuum World School offering the Primary, Middle Years, and Diploma Programmes.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a secondary school English Language & Literature Teacher who will be responsible for teaching throughout the secondary school. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic professional, preferably with experience of the International Baccalaureate, willing to use flexible strategies in a class with students from different language backgrounds.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

• Experience teaching English Language & Literature at middle/high school level
• Experience teaching the IB is a distinct advantage; candidates with Diploma Programme experience will be given priority
• Experience teaching Individuals and Societies is a distinct advantage
• Ability to engage students at all levels
• Willingness to play an active part and collaborate with other middle and high school department members in overall curriculum development
• Commitment to high standards, interest in using a constructivist approach to learning, and enthusiasm for promoting international understanding
• High level of initiative, flexibility, creativity, and organisational skills, as well as commitment to co‑curricular initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above
• Qualified Teacher Status
• English Mother Tongue
• An English Literature background with relevant teaching experience is highly preferred
• Hold an EU passport or be authorised to work in Italy
• Knowledge and skills in ICT literacy
• The ability to teach other subject(s) is an added advantage (I&S TOK, etc.)
