The role involves managing insurable risks, coordinating with various departments, and negotiating insurance policies. The ideal candidate must have extensive knowledge of insurance disciplines, proficiency in Excel, and strong analytical and communication skills. Availability for national and international travel is also required.

In the framework of Thales Alenia Space Italy, in the CFO‑Financial Engineering & Insurance Management team, we are looking for an Insurance & Insurable Risk Management Manager.

The ideal candidate will have at least 35/40 years of age with 10/15 years of experience gained in complex industrial corporates operating at an international level. Specialized professional knowledge of various insurance disciplines (damage, civil liability, etc.), experience in Project Management, and proficiency in contractual insurable risk analyses and insurance policy management are required. Full computer literacy (Office package, especially Excel) and excellent knowledge of English (CEFRB2, preferably C1) are expected. Excellent analytical, communication skills, team working, and inter‑functional collaboration are essential.

Purpose of the Position and Main Activities

• Coordinate activities related to the management of insurable risks (e.g., calls for tender, participation in negotiations, placement, follow‑up), supporting business for local and export projects.
• Manage prevention and protection policies associated with risks; study and adapt contractual clauses to the Group’s insurance cover with assistance from the Legal Department.

The main tasks for which the manager is the point of entry for insurance matters and is responsible, in accordance with the procedures and guidelines defined by DIRM, are the following:

• Report changes in risks (especially to DIRM for policies negotiated at Group level) to help optimize our insurance coverage.
• Contribute to the negotiation of policies with insurers and the broker for policies delegated to the area.
• Assist in implementing risk transfer activities to insurers, according to dedicated processes.
• Manage and control all financial aspects (sales, bonuses, captives, fees, etc.).
• Manage claims and monitor their progress until settlement in coordination with the broker.
• Manage and develop the local insurance team, if any.

Work Relationship

The manager will work in close collaboration with colleagues from other teams (Marketing & Sales, Bid Management, Legal & Contract) and other CFO functions on bids preparation, contract negotiation and program execution both at Thales Alenia Space Italy, Thales Alenia Space JV entities, and Thales Corporate. The manager will also interact with the network of insurers, brokers, lawyers, and market experts.

Travel: availability for short national and international business trips is required.
