Responsibilities

Lead a team of Software Developers and Systems Development Engineers in Amazon Security. Raise the security bar by delivering industry‑best security services and owning security for AWS services such as EC2, S3, and the global retail sites. Design and implement new security features, automate operational fixes, and use AWS services to solve design problems. Build highly scalable, highly available systems that meet Amazon’s global security and availability standards. Drive continuous improvement, simplify complex security challenges, and focus on the customer experience.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience in systems engineering and operations leadership for an Internet service or leading‑edge IT organization.
• Experience managing system or software development teams.
• Hands‑on experience in systems engineering and administrative work in networking, storage systems, and operating systems.
• Experience with agile software development methodology.
• This role requires you to be a national of an EU member state.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence.
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
• Experience with Agile engineering practices (Kanban, continuous delivery, etc.).
• Experience with AWS platforms, services, and design patterns.
