We are looking for a Sustainability Monitoring and Reporting Manager to join our Group Sustainable Development Team based in Milan.

How you make the difference

As Bolton recognizes the importance of transparency in our sustainability monitoring and reporting process, the role of a Monitoring and Reporting Manager, at Group Level, has emerged as a critical position to ensure the advancements of our sustainability roadmaps and decision making processes, based on quality data and regular detailed information.

This position will play a pivotal role in leading the organization’s sustainability reporting efforts, with a strong focus on CSRD, the EU Taxonomy, the UN Global Compact COP, and ISSB standards. The Monitoring and Reporting Manager will be responsible for identifying data gaps, benchmarking against peers, improving data collection, developing digital tools, delivering internal training, and fostering cross-functional collaboration to ensure ongoing compliance with emerging regulations and international standards.

How Your Agenda Looks Like
  • Lead detailed analyses to identify gaps in current sustainability data monitoring and reporting practices.
  • Develop and implement plans to close gaps in the sustainability reporting process and regular monitoring of ESG data, ensuring robust data collection.
  • Oversee the collection, validation, and analysis of data required for sustainability management: not only for annual disclosure, but also for the daily management of sustainability practices.
  • Provide trainings and lead the Business Units and Central Functions along the reporting processes and in the regular monitoring of sustainability performances.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with sustainability reporting requirements, specifically ESRS, ISSB and the EU Taxonomy in close collaboration with the F&A Department.
  • Monitor on evolving sustainability regulations, standards, and best practices to adapt internal processes and digital tools in collaboration with the IT Department.
Your Team

You'll directly report to our Group Sustainable Development Director.
The resource will have a dedicated budget to develop the activity and will manage a Sustainable Development Controller.

What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Education: Degree in Economics, Finance, Sustainability, or related fields. Advanced certifications in sustainability reporting can be a plus.
  • Work Experience: at least 7 years’ experience in sustainability monitoring and reporting in big corporations or consultancy agencies. A strong knowledge of CSRD and the EU Taxonomy requirements is mandatory and an experience in listed companies is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: A deep understanding of sustainability reporting and business data collection processes. Knowledge of the main data collection and management tools and ERPs (Power BI; SAP, Tagetik, etc.). Perfect knowledge of auditing processes to successfully reach data assurance by a third party. Good knowledge of the Double Materiality approach and basics of ERM. Adequate people management skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Professional English is mandatory. Italian, Spanish, French and German languages are a plus.
