Worldwide Amazon Business Operations is building the operations and supply chain solutions that will enable AB’s rapid growth by re‑engineering many parts of our supply chain to offer bulk, consolidated, pallet deliveries and many other services that business customers require.

The AB EU / APAC Operations Planning team is seeking a Supply Chain Analyst to assist in the day‑to‑day operations and issue resolution within our fulfillment networks in Japan and Australia. The role will encompass the full journey of an item from the Fulfillment Center in which it is placed through to the delivery of item to the customer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team in a huge growth area for Amazon.

An ideal candidate has a background in supply chain operations and excellent data‑driven problem‑resolution skills. He / she / they have the ability to pull and analyze data with ease, drive process improvements, standardize our processes and eliminate the root cause of defects within the current systems. Candidates will work collaboratively across teams to perform in‑depth analyses and troubleshoot complex issues in a variety of subject areas. This job will require exceptional analytical skills while having the ability to work independently in a dynamic and multi‑lingual environment.

  • Enable effective decision through proactive retrieval and data aggregation from multiple sources.
  • Communicate analysis and insights to internal stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
  • Escalate problems and / or variance in data to the relevant owners and internal business partners and follow through on the resolutions.
  • Identify and eliminate root causes of defects to drive improvements in AB APAC Operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying ways to streamline processes, minimize repetitive tasks, and create actionable outcomes.
  • Contribute to discussions with cross‑functional teams and leadership to influence and create innovative solutions.
  • Work independently in a dynamic environment.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables, charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical / IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas).
  • Knowledge of SQL (or other programming language e.g., Python, C++).
  • English language skills at business level (Read, Write, Speak).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field.
  • Speak, write, and read fluently in Japanese.
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.
  • Experience working in a fast paced, quickly changing or international environment.
  • Experience working on and delivering end to end projects independently.
