Job purpose: The Studio Production Specialist Consultant will be responsible for the operation and management of the HQ studio, ensuring the delivery of high-quality live and recorded video outputs. This role is crucial for supporting live broadcasts, recorded sessions, and in-studio video production, including explainer and institutional content. The consultant will ensure all productions meet WFP’s technical, editorial, and branding standards, providing a professional service to internal teams and external partners. Key responsibilities include managing studio activities, handling live production workflows, ensuring output quality, operating studio equipment, and coordinating schedules. The role also involves editing emergency content and uploading it to the Multimedia Hub, contributing to WFP's communication objectives through effective audiovisual content creation and delivery.
Responsibilities: The Studio Production Specialist (Live & Broadcast Operations) at WFP is responsible for managing and operating the HQ studio to ensure the delivery of high-quality live and recorded video outputs. This role serves as the primary contact for studio-based productions, supporting live broadcasts, recorded sessions, and in-studio video creation, including explainer and institutional content. Key duties involve managing live production workflows, such as video mixing and audio management, and resolving technical issues in real-time to ensure smooth execution of live streams and recordings. The specialist must also handle the technical complexities of connecting with various broadcasters and partners, adapting to diverse external systems and formats. Additionally, they will support the production of studio content, ensuring all outputs adhere to WFP’s technical, editorial, and branding standards. This includes reviewing and finalizing content, and editing recorded material with b‑roll, subtitles, and supporting elements to create broadcast‑ready products. The role also entails operating and maintaining studio equipment, managing video wall configurations, and setting up lighting and technical elements. Coordination of studio bookings and production schedules to optimize facility use, along with providing a service‑oriented approach to all studio users, are also crucial responsibilities. The specialist may also be tasked with editing video material from emergency operations and uploading finalized content to the Multimedia Hub, ensuring compliance with all organizational standards.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Film or Television Production, Broadcast Media, Multimedia, Audiovisual Communications, or a related field is required. An equivalent combination of relevant training and professional experience may also be considered. A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in video production, including live broadcasting and studio operations, is necessary. Experience working with international media or similar organizations is also desired.
