Role intro

The selected senior professional will report directly to the Head of Lending Italy for the Private Banking Lending segment, taking a leadership role in the structuring and execution of complex structured lending transactions, with a particular focus on Wealth Management clients (including family holdings and UHNW clients).

Responsibilities
  • Lead the structuring and negotiation of Wealth Management Structured Lending transactions (i.e. recourse-based transactions intended mainly to support high-net/ultra-high-net family holdings in their financing needs with variety of collaterals including listed shares, private shares, real estate), coordinating multidisciplinary teams and engaging with high-profile clients.
  • Drive the qualitative and quantitative analysis of transactions, evaluating business models, historical and prospective performance, business plans, collateral structures and the sustainability of proposed financing solutions.
  • Take responsibility for due diligence and credit risk assessment, providing strategic recommendations and supporting the definition of financing terms.
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders (network managers, credit officers, legal, tax, loan operations) and external parties (M&A advisors, law firms, partner banks), ensuring effective and timely communication on transaction progress.
  • Coordinate the preparation, review, and archiving of transaction documentation, ensuring regulatory compliance and process quality.
  • Monitor the credit portfolio, supervising onboarding, reporting, monitoring, and the management of critical or complex situations.
  • Actively participate in credit committees and senior management presentations, contributing to the definition of growth strategies and risk management for the portfolio.
  • Mentor and train junior analysts and team members, promoting professional growth and the dissemination of best practices.
Skills
  • Master’s degree in Economics, Management Engineering, or related fields; MBA or professional certifications (e.g., CFA) are a plus.
  • At least 8 years of experience in the financial sector, with a focus on structured credit, leveraged/acquisition finance, and/or wealth management lending; previous experience in leadership or coordination roles is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis, company valuation, collateral structuring, and complex credit instruments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and leadership skills; ability to work in multidisciplinary and international teams.
  • Full proficiency in Italian and English (written and spoken); knowledge of a third language is an advantage.
  • Advanced knowledge of IT tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and credit management systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, results orientation, flexibility, and the ability to manage complex situations and tight deadlines.
  • Experience in managing onboarding, reporting, and monitoring processes for structured credit portfolios.
  • In-depth knowledge of sector regulations and international best practices in structured credit.
