Layout Design Engineer

Renesas is looking for an experienced and talented Layout Design Engineer to work on a wide range of exciting products such as DC‑DC converters, controllers and drivers.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout of analog ICs from block level to full chip, driving design innovation and best practices.
• Work independently with little supervision to floorplan and layout typical analog circuits such as charge pumps, comparators, amplifiers, band‑gaps, linear regulators, etc., taking complete ownership to meet schedule commitments.
• Apply deep knowledge of floor planning, leaf‑cell layout, and analog layout‑matching techniques, including design for EM and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross‑layout teams worldwide to deliver high‑quality layouts as a natural team player.

Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• 12‑15 years of experience in Analog Layout Design and associated flows for DRC, LVS, and packaging.
• Additional Preferred Qualifications:
• Solid understanding of IC processing (preferably BCD nodes), packaging, and production test, and familiarity with advanced IC CAD tools.
• Skill in coding and proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or TCL.
• Expertise in required CAD tools (Virtuoso XL, Calibre DRC, LVS & PEX, PVS, R3D).
• Ability to work closely with design and layout colleagues to minimize rework.
• Follow methodology guidelines to ensure easy portability of IP across designs.
