hlpy is seeking a Software Engineer (Python) to join our backend team and help design, build, and scale high-performance software solutions. You will mentor junior developers while staying hands-on in coding, shaping the technical direction, and collaborating with product managers and tech leads.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of backend Python experience.
• Strong knowledge of Python 3 and frameworks (Django, FastAPI, Flask).
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Familiar with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of AWS cloud.
• Git and collaborative workflows.
• Testing with PyTest or Unittest.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust Python applications and APIs.
• Implement unit, integration, and performance tests for reliability.
• Optimize code and systems for performance and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews and enforce coding standards.
• Collaborate with PMs, Tech Leads, and engineers to translate requirements into solutions.

Mission

We are seeking a Software Engineer (Python) to join our backend engineering team and help design, build, and scale high-performance software solutions.

You will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of our products, contributing to architectural decisions, and mentoring junior developers while remaining hands‑on in coding and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure Python applications and APIs.
• Implement and maintain unit, integration, and performance tests to ensure reliability.
• Optimize code and systems for performance and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Tech Leads, and other engineers to translate business requirements into high‑quality technical solutions.

Technical Requirements

• Experience with Python 3.x and one or more major frameworks (Django, FastAPI, Flask).
• Solid understanding of software architecture and design patterns.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Proficiency in relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.).
• Knowledge of cloud environments (we are using AWS).
• Strong understanding of version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Experience with testing frameworks (PyTest, Unittest) and debugging tools.

Nice to Have

• Experience with async programming (asyncio, Celery).
• Knowledge of event‑driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Exposure to DevOps practices and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).

Education & Experience

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not mandatory).

• Proven track record of contributing to large‑scale production systems.
