Wabtec in Piossasco seeks a Software Development Technical Team Leader to plan and oversee software activities across multiple locations. This role encompasses coordinating a team, implementing audio streaming features, configuring IP networks, and ensuring compatibility with 3rd party devices.

Ideal candidates should possess a degree in engineering or computer science, along with strong skills in Linux, C++, and distributed systems. The position offers smart working options and various benefits including flexible hours and professional development.

Competenze

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar.
• Professional knowledge of Linux and Embedded Linux.
• Skills in IP networks and C++ required.
• Experience with scripting languages like bash and python.
• Familiarity with Unit Testing and UML.
• Ability to document with doxygen, sphinx and plantuml.
• Proficient in using git and gitlab for code management.

Job Description

Who will you be working with?

You will work for Annax, a Wabtec business unit specialized in passenger information systems for long and short distance trains, trams and subways. There is a growing development team in Piossasco, dedicated to strengthening the portfolio of tram and commuter train projects collaborating closely with other teams in Switzerland and China.

How will you make a difference?

As a Software Development Technical Team Leader, you will be responsible for planning, coordination and technical guidance of the Software activities distributed over different sites. Additionally, you will be involved in the implementation and configuration of real time audio streaming features, IP network configurations and protocols, devices diagnostics, compatibility to 3rd party devices and cyber security requirements.

What will your typical day look like?

• Coordinate and technical support of a team involved in multiple projects (not hierarchical management)
• Define tasks and work packages
• Configuration and implementation of features in the context of a project
• Design module and framework extensions
• Develop, test and document your code
• Configure and integrate ANNAX software and Linux services
• Analyze issues and fix bugs
• Apply cyber security rules
• Evaluate and elaborate new technologies
