At HCL Rome Lab, we are seeking to hire a Software Development Engineer for the BigFix product line. This role specializes in working with other development members, collaborating with architects and other leadership team members

You\'ll work closely with senior engineers and architects, taking ownership of key features and helping to mentor junior team members.

Who you are

As a Software Developer, you will have a track record of successful projects with demonstrated impact, thanks to a strong technical and personal background. In our team you will be responsible for:

• working with the product architects and senior engineers to define product architecture, high-level and low-level design artifacts
• contributing with creative ideas for new prototypes and innovative projects
• contributing to any process improvements to optimize the SW life-cycle and maximize the team’s productivity
• analyzing and implementing new product features being accountable for the personal and the team’s work
• troubleshooting and resolving product issues reported by customers in the field
• contributing on test automation, troubleshooting and fixing product\'s issues discovered during the development cycles

Our ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, able to work independently and juggle multiple tasks.

You will identify problems, dig deep for root causes and implement solutions that prevent future occurrences.

Qualifications

• Graduated with university degree in either Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics disciplines
• At least 3-5-years experience in the SW development industry

Required Technical Skills with proven track record of successful projects and strong hands-on experience in the following areas:

• OS (Unix, Windows, Mac) and Database (SQL Server, DB2 at least) programming
• REST API implementation and network programming

Required Soft Skills

• Experience in performing problem determination & root cause analysis
• Strong analytical ability with good practice in breaking down complex problems into simple tasks
• Dedicated to continual self-development
• Teamwork and accountability
• Ability to collaborate with geographically distributed cross-functional teams
• Ability to multi-task
• Good written and verbal communications skills
• Fluent written and spoken English

Other preferred Technical and Soft Skills

• Go programming language
• Multi-cloud environments (Amazon, Microsoft, Google, IBM, etc) and virtualization technologies (VMWare)
• Cloud Management Platform at all levels such as IaaS, PaaS, SaaS
• Performance optimization at all levels such as algorithm complexity, DB schema, data access and management
• Test Automation practices and Agile Development
• Experience in working with customers
• Familiarity with executive level communications and metrics
• Presenting at conferences/engaging face-to-face with customers
