Job summary

Currie & Brown is seeking an experienced Site Quantity Surveyor to join a major data centre development in Northern Italy. The role covers commercial management, subcontract administration and cost control on a flagship project with international exposure.

You will work with project managers, contractors and client representatives on site, handling valuations, variations and forecast expenditure while ensuring robust cost control and risk management throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or similar.
  • MRICS or equivalent professional membership is advantageous.
  • Proven QS experience on major construction or engineering projects.
  • Experience in mission-critical / ME P / industrial sectors.
  • Strong subcontract management and cost reporting skills.
  • Excellent analytical and negotiation abilities.
  • Fluent Italian and English language skills.
  • Ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Support commercial and contractual management of a major data centre project.
  • Administer subcontractor packages from procurement through final account.
  • Review valuations, payment applications and variations.
  • Monitor project costs, commitments and forecast expenditure.
  • Prepare cost reports and assist with commercial forecasting.
  • Evaluate change requests and manage compensation events.
  • Assist with contract administration and correspondence.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors and client representatives on site.
  • Support risk management and cost control throughout the lifecycle.
  • Contribute to monthly reporting and project performance reviews.

Are you an experienced Site Quantity Surveyor looking to play a key role on a major data centre

construction project?

Currie & Brown is supporting the delivery of a large-scale data centre programme in the Milan region and is seeking a Site Quantity Surveyor to join the project team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on one of the fastest-growing sectors in construction, contributing to the successful commercial delivery of a high-profile mission-critical facility.

What you'll do
  • Support the commercial and contractual management of a major data centre construction project
  • Administer subcontractor packages from procurement through to final account
  • Review, assess and agree valuations, applications for payment and variations
  • Monitor project costs, commitments and forecast expenditure
  • Prepare cost reports and support commercial forecasting activities
  • Evaluate change requests and manage compensation events
  • Assist with contract administration and commercial correspondence
  • Work closely with project managers, contractors and client representatives on site
  • Support risk management and cost control throughout the project lifecycle
  • Contribute to monthly reporting and project performance reviews
What we're looking for
  • Proven Quantity Surveying experience gained on major construction or engineering projects
  • Experience within mission-critical, MEP, industrial, pharmaceutical, advanced manufacturing or large-scale infrastructure projects will also be considered
  • Strong understanding of subcontract management, change control and cost reporting
  • Experience administering construction contracts and managing contractor accounts
  • Commercially astute with strong analytical and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with project stakeholders
  • Italian and English language skills
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or similar discipline
  • Professional membership (ideally MRICS or equivalent) advantageous
