Are you a highly motivated mechanical engineer seeking a challenging and rewarding role with a global company? Join us as a SER Mechanical Engineering Specialist in our Tissue Converting Services Engineering Team, based in Lucca, Italy. In this role, you will provide mechanical engineering expertise to support design and project completion. You will develop and implement engineering procedures to ensure quality and productivity, analyze technical specifications and blueprints, and actively contribute as a member of the design and production teams to achieve delivery targets. You will also manage subcontracted work when needed, ensure compliance with quality standards, identify risks, and implement solutions. Additionally, you will share your knowledge by coaching and training within your area of responsibility.

Responsibilities
  • Design and create mechanical drawings and implement upgrades for Tissue machinery.
  • Support the Inside Sales team by preparing accurate technical quotations.
  • Develop and execute mechanical upgrade projects, ensuring feasibility and alignment with customer requirements.
  • Prepare and share detailed reports on completed upgrades and propose new standard improvements.
  • Assess customer requests for technical feasibility and provide recommendations.
Expectations
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar studies.
  • Previous experience of at least 3‑5 years as Mechanical Design within an automation company and strong technical background in industrial automation.
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical design tools, including CAD 2D and CAD 3D (NX, SolidWorks), PLM (Teamcenter), Solidworks PDM.
  • Fluent in Italian and English (spoken and written).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and knowledge of SAP.
  • Availability and willingness to travel.
