OPEN MIND Technologies AG in Bologna or Pesaro seeks a Senior Software Engineer to maintain and develop low-level mathematical algorithms in the CAD/CAM kernel, including NURBS and optimization, with multi-threading support for real-life machining tasks.

You will collaborate in an Agile environment, propose innovative concepts, and contribute to a team with over 20 years of CAD/CAM expertise, helping advance core geometric functionalities.

Competenze

• Studied mathematics, physics or mechanical engineering.
• Proficient in C++ for low-level kernel development.
• Experience with CAD/CAM or geometric algorithms is a plus.
• Interest in NURBS, differential geometry and numerical optimization.

Senior Software Engineer C++ (3d Core Kernel) (m/f/d)

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our team for our Bologna or Pesaro Office. The Senior Software Engineer will play a crucial role to maintain and develop low level mathematical algorithms in our geometrical kernel. Play with NURBS, optimization, both in single and multithread conditions, solving real-life problems to support our customers to achieve outstanding results in everyday machining job.

YOUR MAIN TASKS

• Requirements Analysis
  Collaborate as part of a creative team to analyze the requirements for the new and ongoing development of our CAD/CAM software
• Software Enhancement
  Enhance existing software modules and actively participate in implementing new product features to improve the functionality and usability
• Algorithm Design and Development
  Responsibility for the maintenance and enhancement of core geometric kernel functionalities, as well as the design and development of algorithms supporting the entire product design process within the software
• Agile Collaboration
  Work collaboratively and in an agile manner with our product management and innovation team, engaging in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to ensure timely delivery and alignment with project objectives
• Idea Contribution
  Actively contribute your innovative ideas and participate in brainstorming sessions to develop new solution concepts, fostering a collaborative and constructive environment within the team
• Learn from the masters
  Join a highly skilled and motivated team with more than 20 years of experience in high level commercial CAD/CAM development

YOUR PROFILE

• Educational Background
  Successfully completed studies in mathematics, physics, or mechanical engineering, providing a solid foundation for the role
• Proficiency in C++
  Possess in-depth knowledge and proficiency in C++, enabling you to contribute effectively to software development tasks
• Experience in Software Development
  More than 4 years of professional experience working with software used in development, showcasing your ability to navigate and contribute to complex software projects
• Passion for Mathematical Problem-Solving
  Strong interest in solving complex mathematical challenges through practical applications in differential geometry, computational geometry, linear algebra, and numerical optimization, ideally complemented by expertise in NURBS, algorithms and data structures, as well as CUDA/GPU programming, and a passion for professional technical discussions
• Fluency in Communication
  Communicate fluently (at least B2) in both languages Italian and English, facilitating effective collaboration and communication within the team
