Remote policy : Full remote

As a software engineer, you’ll be responsible for writing, testing, and deploying software to production. You’ll also run small PoCs to test concepts and improve our software development processes.

Security is a priority for Enigmatic Smile and Fidel API, so adherence to PCI and ISO policies is mandatory for all requests and actions.

Enigmatic Smile is a fintech scale-up with Fidel API as a standalone operation within the Engineering Team. Fidel API is a distributed team based in Lisbon, Portugal. Our customers are worldwide, supporting different regional requirements through our platform. We aim to enable consumers, retailers, rewards publishers, and banks globally to enhance customer experience.

Main responsibilities:

• Develop high-quality, scalable, and robust software solutions.
• Conduct code reviews, analyze peer submissions, identify issues, and suggest improvements.
• Maintain code quality, including writing automated tests.
• Assist in project planning, solution design, and decision-making.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in technical and process areas.
• Ensure security compliance with PCI DSS and ISO27001 standards.
• Own and maintain the systems you develop for long-term scalability and reliability.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Experience designing and developing scalable, high-performance software solutions.
• Proficiency with Git and GitHub workflows.
• Knowledge of common programming languages and tools.
• Experience with databases, both NoSQL/Document and SQL.
• Problem-solving mindset.
• Collaborative team player.

Skills preferred by the team:

• Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, CloudFormation, DynamoDB, API Gateway, and Step Functions.
• Knowledge of Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript frameworks.
