The opportunity
The R&D Project Manager role is critical to ensure the successful execution of the eMobility roadmap, which includes cost, schedule, quality, and technology for the life cycle of the project and across multiple projects. The R&D Project Manager is contributing to the goals of the E-Mobility GCoC.
How you'll make an impact
- Lead cross-functional project teams (Power Electronics, Mechanics, Control and Automation, Engineering) in close collaboration with the responsible line/program management
- Drive development of multiple product roadmap items with R&D technical team and all cross-functional stakeholders
- Develop accurate, comprehensive, and regular reporting about R&D projects and stakeholder management
- Drive the implementation of the backlog in a transparent and efficient way and ensure quality and timeliness of releases
- Responsible for scope definition, budget estimation and planning of the different R&D projects
- Setup and manage partnerships with external development partners and production suppliers
- Collect and clarify requirements and drive prioritization with multiple stakeholders
- Responsible for risk and opportunity management and change control within the projects
- Support the roll‑out of releases to supply chain, engineering, and manufacturing, and ensure smooth handover to the operational organization
- Support the R&D organization in continuously improving the processes and ways of working towards increasingly lean and agile methods
Your background
- University degree in a technical field (Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering or similar)
- 3 years of technical project management experience including full lifecycle developments; all aspects from initial research & development, specifications development, concept development, design, testing & validation, qualification, and industrialization
- Experience in product development project management in a multisite and global team environment
- Good knowledge of Scrum framework or similar Agile‑Lean stage gate frameworks
- Experience in EV charging is a plus
- Experience of product development projects in the Automotive industry using knowledge of APQP (incl. D/PFMEA) is a plus
- Strong team and leadership skills
- Pro‑active, creative & problem solving person with resistance to stressful situations
- Work very well independently and have a strong self‑motivation
- Willingness to travel (10%)
- Excellent English skills (German, French or any other European language is considered an asset)
