A leading technology company in telematics is seeking a Senior Product / Backend Engineer to design and build backend services for their data platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python and expertise in data processing, IoT systems, and infrastructure technologies such as Docker and AWS. The role is remote-friendly but candidates must be resident in Italy. Join us to work on innovative solutions at the intersection of IoT, data, and AI.

Competenze

• Strong experience with Python, particularly with async frameworks.
• Experience in data processing, streaming, or IoT systems.
• Solid knowledge of Linux, Docker, and AWS.

At SafeFleet, we build technology that connects vehicles, data and decisions. Our platform processes large volumes of telematics data from connected vehicles and transforms them into insights for companies managing fleets.

We’re looking for a Senior Product / Backend Engineer who wants to take ownership of real product problems and help us evolve our platform with data, IoT and AI.

What you’ll do

• Design and build backend services for our telematics and data platform
• Work with streaming and large-scale vehicle data
• Contribute to AI-powered features across the product
• Build reliable infrastructure and APIs powering the SafeFleet platform
• Design and manage data models and storage using databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB
• Take ownership of features from idea to production

What we’re looking for

• Strong experience with Python (especially async frameworks)
• Experience with data processing, streaming or IoT systems
• Solid infrastructure knowledge: Linux, Docker, AWS
• Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB
• Product mindset and strong sense of ownership
• Interest in AI and how it can improve real products
• Team player, enthusiastic and motivated to build things that matter

Nice to have

• Experience with event-driven architectures
• Familiarity with AI APIs / LLM integrations
• Experience working with high-volume data systems
