Senior Postdoctoral Position in Translational Research of Gastrointestinal Cancers

Postdoctoral positions are available immediately in the Digestive Molecular and Clinical Oncology laboratory led by Prof. Davide Melisi at the Department of Medicine, University of Verona, Italy.

The Melisi Lab is dedicated to unraveling the molecular mechanisms driving the development, progression, and therapeutic resistance of gastrointestinal cancers. Our mission is to translate findings from basic, omic, and preclinical studies into innovative clinical trials to improve outcomes for cancer patients.

Our current research focuses on:

  • Understanding and targeting key signaling pathways in the pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) microenvironment.
  • Developing novel biomarkers and therapeutic strategies for PDAC patients.
  • Exploring combination treatments with therapies that have near- and long-term approval potential.
Requirements
  • A PhD or MD/PhD in biological sciences or related fields.
  • Hands‑on experience with techniques such as animal models, siRNA gene silencing, flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation (IP)-Western, kinase assays, mammalian cell transfection, PCR, and next‑generation sequencing.
  • A track record of scientific productivity, including first‑author publications in respected journals.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

New PhD graduates and candidates with up to two years of postdoctoral experience are encouraged to apply.

Compensation
