Bryden Wood in Milan is expanding its team to lead mechanical design for Data Centre and large-scale pharmaceutical projects in Italy. You will work closely with Architecture, Structures, Civils and Sustainability teams to deliver innovative designs across multiple projects.

Seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 4+ years in data centres or mission-critical environments, fluent in Italian and English, capable of leading small teams and delivering official submissions to authorities.

Competenze

• Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Energy Engineering or equivalent.
• Deep knowledge of Italian regulations.
• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Data Centre, mission critical or Pharmaceutical projects in Italy.
• Solid experience on large-scale industrial, infrastructure or complex building services projects.
• Experience in producing, delivering and possibly signing off official submissions to local authorities.
• Language: Full professional fluency in Italian and English.
• Project management: experience in mechanical project management with autonomous leadership.
• Revit & Navisworks: competent in use of Revit and Navisworks.

Mansioni

• Lead mechanical technical design (HVAC, cooling, piping and ventilation) for all project stages, from concept to construction.
• Supervise and coordinate teams of engineers and technicians, assigning tasks and guiding the team.
• Identify and specify mechanical equipment to meet project objectives prioritising energy efficiency and reliability.
• Demonstrate knowledge of critical cooling systems and pumped water circuits.
• Carry out hydraulic system calculations including pump sizing and pressure drop analysis.
• Work concurrently on multiple projects from concept through to delivery.

• Ensure full compliance with Italian regulations and sign off submissions to authorities.
• Manage project coordination, QA/QC procedures and risk management.

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical / HVAC Engineer to lead the technical delivery of our Data Centre and large-scale Pharmaceutical projects. THE ROLE

You will be the mechanical lead of our projects in Italy as well as a key member on other international projects, working closely with all the other disciplines (Architecture, Structures, Civils and Sustainability) and clients to deliver innovative designs.

• Lead mechanical technical design (HVAC, cooling, piping and ventilation) for all project stages, from concept to construction, including calculations, concept development, project coordination, H&S, risk management and project delivery.
• Supervise and coordinate teams of engineers and technicians, assigning tasks, providing technical guidance and ensuring team cohesion toward project goals.
• Identify and specify appropriate mechanical equipment and components to meet project objectives, considering energy efficiency, reliability, redundancy and system compatibility.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of critical cooling systems, variable flow closed-circuit water systems, chilled water applications and mechanical equipment selection.
• Carry out hydraulic system calculations, including pump sizing, pressure drop analysis and flow control for chilled water applications.
• Work concurrently on multiple projects from concept through to delivery.
• Use a solution-based approach to solve complex thermal and fluid dynamic problem
• Ensure full compliance with Italian regulations.
• Produce and sign off official submissions to local authorities.
• Manage project coordination, QA/QC procedures and risk management.
• Mentor junior engineers and liaise with senior management on project escalations.

WHAT WE NEED

• Must-Have: Deep knowledge of Italian regulations.
• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience, preferably with previous experience in Data Centre, mission critical or Pharmaceutical projects in Italy.
• Solid experience on large-scale industrial, infrastructure or complex building services projects. Experience in Data Centre projects will be highly valued.
• Experience in producing, delivering and possibly signing off official submissions to local authorities.
• Language: Full professional fluency in spoken and written Italian and English.
• Project management: Proven experience in mechanical project management, with the ability to provide autonomous leadership and coordinate small teams of engineers.
• Revit & Navisworks: Competent in the use of Revit and Navisworks.
