Job summary

Allegion is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Faenza, Italy to lead the design of mechanical and electromechanical locking systems. You will create Creo models and drawings, ensure performance and manufacturability, and work across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.

You will apply GD&T, tolerancing, and DFx principles while supporting validation, risk assessment, and compliance activities. A strong collaboration culture and international exposure are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
• 3 to 10 years of experience in design and development of mechanical locking systems or similar products.
• Proven experience managing projects through full product lifecycle.
• Strong proficiency with 3D CAD software (Creo preferred).
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and assembly techniques.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and technical drawing preparation.
• Fluent English and ability to work with international teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of mechanical and electromechanical locking systems from concept to production.
• Create 3D CAD models and technical drawings using Creo.
• Ensure products meet performance, durability, reliability, and security requirements.
• Apply DFM/DFA principles to improve manufacturability, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Define tolerances, interfaces, and assembly methods for complex systems.
• Support product validation, certification, risk assessment, and compliance activities.
• Collaborate with multiple functions to drive improvements and tackle challenges.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, materials, and smart locking solutions.
