Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.
We want you as a talented Non-linear Analyses Mechanical Engineer to help us in our mission by contributing to the development, justification and validation of our vehicle.
You will work closely with our CAD, thermal and aerothermal engineers to ensure the structural integrity and performance of our spacecraft under various operational conditions. You will be part of the Vehicle Design Team and will report to the Principal Mechanical Engineer and the Vehicle Design Lead. You will work in close collaboration with System and AIT teams.
In your capacity as Non-linear Analyses Mechanical Engineer, your role will include:
Lead and conduct advanced mechanical analysis using non-linear finite element modeling techniques,
Lead mechanical qualification testing of space products for both shock and mechanical environments.
Develop and validate complex models to simulate non-linear behaviors under various conditions,
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insights and recommendations based on analysis results,
Perform sensitivity analyses to enhance product performance and reliability,
Propose, define and process the tests you may need to validate your models,
Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders,
Participate in technical reviews as required,
Stay updated with the latest advancements in non-linear finite element modeling and material science.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a 3-5 years of working experience in non-linear finite element modelling,
At least one experience in mechanical qualification campaign.
FEM experience with mechanisms is a plus.
Extended knowledge on resolution methods for non-linear problems (Contact, material, geometric),
Good understanding of material behaviour, including plasticity, creep and fatigue,
Proficiency in finite element non-linear analysis software (MSC Nastran is preferable).
Ability to effectively utilize oral and written communication to express technical concepts and recommendations,
