BYD Europe seeks an experienced market research and product planning professional to support European vehicle programs. Based in Milan, you will translate market signals into product definitions, coordinate with R&D, and help shape localization and competitive strategies across Italy and Europe.

You bring 5+ years in automotive market research, a relevant degree, and fluency in Italian with working English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or above; preferred majors include vehicle engineering, market research, economics, business analysis, or data analysis.
• 5+ years experience in market research, product planning, competitive analysis, product definition or R&D support in automotive.
• Familiar with Italian passenger car market structure, user habits, regulations and policies.
• Italian language near native level; English can be used as working language.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the systematic research on the European automobile market, especially the Italian automobile market, covering policies and regulations, industry trends, market segmentation structure, changes in user demand, consumer preferences and new energy development direction, identifying key market signals that have an impact on vehicle definition and localization development, and outputting product insights and demand suggestions that can be transformed at the R & D end.
• Be responsible for the configuration, function, performance, HMI, interior and exterior decoration design trend and user evaluation research of key competing models in Italy and Europe, and support the product definition, configuration strategy and technical route decision of the model project.
• Be responsible for converting local market information into R & D language, forming product problem list, function optimization suggestions, configuration competitiveness analysis, localization development requirements and other inputs, and supporting the R & D team in HQ to develop European models.
• Be responsible for assisting in the construction of localized R & D capabilities in Europe, sorting out local regulations, user needs, competitive product databases, testing resources, supplier/institutional resources and external expert networks, and providing support for the preparation of future local R & D centers in Europe.
• Be responsible for establishing a business collaboration mechanism with the Italian Design Center, conducting joint research on European user aesthetics, interior and exterior decoration trends, cockpit experience, material color, functional layout, etc., and promoting market insight and design development linkage.

Skills & Requirements:

• Bachelor degree or above, major in vehicle engineering, market research, economics, business analysis, data analysis is preferred;
• More than 5 years of experience in market research, product planning, competitive analysis, product definition or R & D support in the automotive industry, familiar with the Italian automotive market is preferred;
• Understand the vehicle R & D process, and can translate market trends, regulatory requirements, user scenarios and competitive product characteristics into product recommendations that can be referred to by the R & D side;
• Familiar with Italian passenger car market structure, user habits, regulations and policies, tax subsidies and the development trend of new energy vehicles.
• Familiar with the mainstream European automobile brands and vehicle configurations, and have the ability to judge the competitiveness of different brands in the European market.
• Italian mother tongue or near mother tongue level, English can be used as working language;
• Experience with OEM, Tier 1, consulting, market research, automotive press, or product planning is a plus;
