Burberry is seeking a Materials Development Specialist to partner with Design and Sourcing, managing raw material development and procurement in line with design aesthetics and budget.

You will act as a technical ambassador, translating creative visions into production, leading vendor collaborations, developing new material concepts, and ensuring on-time delivery and quality across collections.

Competenze

• Experience translating design aesthetics into production
• Strong vendor management and supplier relationship skills
• Ability to define and manage development timelines and milestones
• Awareness of product cost and margin implications
• Deep knowledge of fashion materials and manufacturing processes
• Excellent communication across cross-functional teams
• Solid understanding of luxury consumer trends and market

Mansioni

• Build and maintain a close working partnership with Design, acting as the technical partner for design and materials
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, understanding capabilities and availability
• Research and develop new raw material concepts and technologies (samples, colourways, mills)
• Define and implement the raw material development critical path; meet deadlines and resolve issues
• Order and deliver raw materials on time at required quality and within cost
• Ensure materials and products are fit for purpose, with ongoing risk assessment
• Collaborate with Operations to develop collections for testing to standards
• Support production meetings and ensure proto/sample readiness for production
• Keep PLM updated with 100% accuracy
